William Beckmann

William Beckmann Sr., 77, a lifelong resident of the Remsen community, died Monday at Sacred Heart hospital after suffering from failing health for some time.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic church, Remsen. Rt. Rev. Msgr. F. P. Schultes officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery, at Remsen. Parish rosary was said at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fisch funeral home, Remsen.

Mr. Beckmann was born on July 20. 1886, at Remsen. His marriage to Mary Stuntebach took place on Feb. 3, 1914, at Remsen. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving is his wife; two sons, Frank of Remsen and William of Le Mars; two daughters, Mrs. Lewine Thompson of Dow City and Mrs. Albert (Mary) Joanning or Granville, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Ferd Bohlke
