MAR 17, 1847 - OCT 6, 1908Death of Nicholas Reuter [Nicolas Reiter]
Nicholas Reuter [Nicolas Reiter]died on Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nic Hazel, on the Ernest Schutt farm near Merrill, of paralysis, aged about sixty five years. Mr. Reuter [Reiter]was for sixteen years city marshall at Alton, but for the past two or three years made his home with his son-in-law, Nic Hazel. The funeral was held at St.Mary's church in Alton yesterday. He leaves several sons and daughters who are Mrs. [Catherine] Kauffman of Norfolk, Nebraska; Nickolas and Leo Reuter [Reiter] of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Nicholas [Mary] Hazel, Mrs. Frank [Rose] Braband, Michael and Peter Reuter [Reiter] of this county.
