Judy Ann Pitts was born on April 5, 1947, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Leona (Willer) Pitts. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School. Following graduation, Judy began her career in caregiving with Plymouth County Home Health. This program was later assumed by Floyd Valley Hospital where Judy worked for several years. Along with providing healthcare in individual homes, Judy cared for residents in the memory care unit at Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen, Iowa. She retired in 2017, at the age of 70.

Judy’s life revolved around caregiving. As her children were growing up, Judy’s home was the gathering spot. She cared for her children’s friends like they were her own. She enjoyed sharing and giving gifts to all that attended holidays at her home. She made sure everyone had a meal at Thanksgiving. Judy was also passionate about decorating for holidays. She would transform her entire home and the front yard for each season. She was a member of the Le Mars Eagles Club.

Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Curt Lang of Le Mars, IA and his children, Cara, Melissa, McKenzie and Austin, Cheri Schumacher of Le Mars, IA, Rusty (Theresa Kinney) Burnett of Le Mars, IA and children, Laura, Alex, Arik and Adam, Misty Brand of Le Mars, IA and her children, Brendon and Beau; several great-grandchildren; her nephews, Kyle (Katie) Pitts, and Clark Pitts; and friend, Jim Burnett.
