Obituary

Patty Stabe Plueger, 80, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Shawn Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the funeral home prior to the funeral service on Saturday.

Patty Orlene Durr was born on June 12, 1942, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Orville Sr. and Colleen (Simon) Durr. She attended Le Mars Community High School, graduating in 1960.

On June 12, 1960, Patty and William Stabe were united in marriage. They made their home in Le Mars. Along with raising her family, Patty worked as a housekeeper at The Abbey of Le Mars and Brentwood. William passed away in 2001.

Patty later married Leonard Plueger on October 15, 2005, in Le Mars. They enjoyed spending time with each other, attending events and family functions. In her spare time, Patty enjoyed shopping and collecting jewelry. She also spent time with her family by attending a Tuesday lunch group. She loved every minute she spent with her oldest grandson, Brad.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Plueger of Suwanee, GA; her children, Debbie (Brian Erickson) Lubben of Le Mars, IA, Terri Carter of Wilmington, NC and Lynette (Jim) Conley of Marcus, IA; Leonard’s children, Barbara (Clee) Thomas of Huntington, CA, Dan (Krista) Plueger of Le Mars, IA, David (Laura) Plueger of North Sioux City, SD, Dean (Marie) Plueger of Suwanee, GA and Becky (Shawn) Olson of Le Mars, IA; grandchildren, Brad Olson (Angelica Karr), Brandon Olson, Tyler (Sam) Lubben, Derrick (Jake) Collins, Joshua Watts, Andrea Watts, Trey Pallaya, Tanisha (Brian) Carroll, Matt Mayrose, Chris Mayrose, Jacklyn (Jon) Muntz, Gina (Andrew) Meyer, Christy (Josh) Lugar, Trey Gourdine, Trent Gourdine, Jaden Thomas, Savannah Thomas, Jacob Plueger, Hailey Plueger, Arabella Plueger, Eleanna Plueger, Bryce Olson and Brett Olson; great-grandchildren, Draven, Rayna, Mila, Thamous, Markell, Gage, Kallum, Jayden, Trindon, Carter, Cooper, Leo, Sol, Karma, Paisley, Ephram, Cerra, Ezra, Escher, Carson, Brody, Nolan, Eliza, Camden, Nevi, Bryce, Matthew, Jason, and Serendity; a sister, Linda (Johnny Robinette) Durr; brothers, Terry (Nancy Rogers) Durr and Rod (Beth) Durr; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Durr all of Le Mars, IA; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William; a son, Randy Stabe; a granddaughter, Stacey Watts; a grandson, Brett Olson; her brother, Orville Durr, Jr; in-laws, Ray and Evelyn Stabe; sisters-in-law, Mabel Durr, Janice Stabe, Diane Stabe; and brother-in-law, Gene Stabe.
