William Nason, 71, Succumbs

Services for Retired East Side Grocer to Be on Thursday

William F. Nason, 71, retired east side grocer died at his home late yesterday after an illness of two years.

Mr. Nason ran the former Bed Rock Grocery & Meat market from 1911 to 1926, when he retired.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Thursday at the Little Flower of Jesus church. The rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock tonight at the Miller Funeral home. Burial will be in St. Michael’s cemetery.

William F. Nason was born December 4, 1875 near Jefferson, in Union county, S. D. His parents moved to Westfield, Ia., several years later, where they farmed. He married Catherine Coleman April 20, 1904, at Elk Point.

The couple lived in Canton for six years, then came to Sioux Falls in 1910. He leaves his widow, three sons, Earl, Lester and Melvin two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy Schone and Vera L. Nason, all of Sioux Falls; a sister, Annie Nason, Westfield; four brothers, Albert, Harry and John of Westfield, and Joseph of Stevens, S. D., and five grandchildren.
