Mrs. Lucy Eppling
Mrs. Lucy Eppling, 91, of Kingsley died Friday (March 6, 1987) at Colonial Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness.
The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley with Rev Walter Resner officiating. Burial was in the Kingsley Cemetery. Friends called after noon Sunday at Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley the family was present at the funeral home from 7 30 to 8 30 p.m.
Mrs. Eppling, the former Lucy Higginbotham, was born Feb 21, 1896, in rural Kingsley to Arthur and Mary Ann Smith Higginbotham. She married Ernest Eppling on May 28, 1932, in Remsen They farmed in the Remsen and Kingsley areas for many years before retiring and moving into Kingsley in 1959. Mr. Eppling died Sept. 19, 1963, She had been a resident of Colonial Manor for the past month ° She was a member of First Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society and of the Elkhorn Ladies Club
Survivors are a son, Gordon Haggin of Eugene, Ore, 14 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister; two sons, and three brothers
