Mrs. George Henke, 54, Elk Point, S.D., died March 6, 1976, at a Sioux City hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services were held Tuesday March 9 at the First Church of Christ in Akron, Rev. Mike McHugh officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Elk Point.
Mrs. Henke, the former Rae L. Hummel, was born April 4, 1921, in Westfield, Iowa, and was married to George Henke August 20, 1937, in Elk Point. The couple lived in the Akron and Elk Point area all of their married life.
She helped organize the Elk Point CB club.
Survivors include the widower; two sons, George and Phillip, both of Carter Lake, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Karen) Clark of Le Mars; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Hummel of Westfield, Warren Hummel of Seattle, Wash., and Martin Hummel of Damascus, Ore., and a sister, Mrs. Arlin (Mary) Monroe of Sioux City.
