Mrs. Anna Smith

Mrs. Anna E. Smith, 79, Merrill, died Monday (April 8, 1974) at home. She resided at 335 Fowler in Merrill.

Anna Redinius was born May 1, 1894, at Early, the daughter of the late Harvey and Elizabeth (Kaufman) Redinius. She was a longtime Merrill resident. Her marriage to Robert M. Smith took place in Le Mars on Oct. 4, 1917. She was a member of Merrill United Methodist church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Merrill United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Vallery officiating. Burial will be in Le Mar s Memorial cemetery under the direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are four sons, Robert of Merrill, Harvey of Woodstock, Minn., Gilbert of Pipestone, Minn. and David of Lawton; six daughters, Mrs. Earl (Georgia) Sorgdrager of Merrill, Mrs. Leonard (Bernice) Jacque z of San Mateo, Calif., Mrs. Norbert (Ann) Peschon of Woodstock, Minn., Mrs. Armand (Virginia) Brown of Akron, Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Marienau of Merrill and Mrs. Donald (Amelia) Reamer of Las Vegas, Nev, 28 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also, surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ella Barthman of Newell, Mrs. Ida Nelson of Welcome, Minn., and Mrs. George (Margery) Saxton of Fairmont, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, two brothers, and a sister.
