Joseph Hickey

Joseph James Hickey, the former Le Mars resident, passed away this morning, March 5, at his home at 1117 - 27th St. Sioux City, following a lingering sickness. He was 86 years old.

Joseph Hickey was born on April 24, 1865, in Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Hickey. He was married to Alice Burns at Ireton, Iowa, on November 20, 1889. He was a retired farmer having farmed in the Le Mars vicinity for 50 years.

He was a former member of the Le Mars court of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving is his wife, Mrs. J. J. Hickey of Sioux City, two sons, Emmett of Sioux City, and Francis of Le Mars, and three granddaughters, Jeanette, Arlene, and Patricia.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning with a burial in St. James Cemetery in Le Mars.
