Little Henry Weyen Killed by Falling Tree

The entire Grant township community was greatly shocked Monday evening when it learned the terrible bereavement that had overtaken Mr. and Mrs. john Weyen In the almost instant death of their little five-year-old son, Henry

As we learn there is a large grove on the Weyen farm and for several days, Mr. Weyen had been cleaning out the underbrush and cutting down some of the overabundance of timber. On Monday afternoon shortly after five o’clock the little boy wandered out to watch his father at his labor. It was not very long until while the toddling about, he was hit upon the head by a falling tree and rendered unconscious. The father picked him up and hurried to the house, but the little form lay motionless in death in his arms ere he reached the dwelling.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the Grant Township Church, the pastor, Rev. Meyer officiating. The little body was laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining that place of worship. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their great sorrow.
