Remsen Resident Called By Death
Funeral Services Held Saturday Morning For Mrs. J. P. Mersch.

Mrs. J. P. Mersch, 86, well known in Remsen and LeMars, died Wednesday at her home in Remsen.

Born in the village of Anglesburg, Canton Mersch, Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, on September 9, 1854, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Arens, who came to this country, bringing their family. They settled at St. Donatous, Iowa, and lived there 14 years.

In 1874 Margaret Arens, became the wife of Michael Duster in Luxemburg, Iowa, where the couple resided for six years, then moved to Holy Cross, Iowa. Mr. Duster passed away there in 1893. Two years later, Mrs. Duster and her children moved to Remsen and have been residents there and in LeMars ever since.

Surviving, besides the husband, are the children: Mrs. Henry Foxen and Anton J. Duster, Remsen; Joseph Duster, LeMars; and Mrs. Herb Zimmerman, Remsen.

Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Saturday morning in St. Mary’s church in Remsen.

Pallbearers were six grandsons: John Foxen, Sioux City; George J. Foxen and Leo Duster, LeMars; William Duster, DesMoines; Jack Zimmerman and Roy Duster, Remsen.
