Obituary

Oyens, Iowa – Keith Krause, 69, of Oyens, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at MercyOne Siouxland Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Private family services will be held. Public visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021 with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. A prayer service will take place at 7 p.m., with Rev. Christian Meier officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Resthaven Cemetery, Le Mars.

Keith Allen Krause was born on February 10, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Darrell Earl and Phyllis (Holt) Krause. He was Baptized on May 27, 1979, at the Assembly of God Church in Le Mars, Iowa. He attended school in Hinton, Iowa. Following school, Keith began working with his family on the farm.

Keith and Cheryl Lewison were married on June 15, 1974, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron, Iowa. They were blessed with three children, Christopher, Rebecca and Sarah. Keith later worked at Harkers’ Meats in Le Mars. He continued working when Tyson purchased the plant. When Tyson closed, Keith transferred to Wells Dairy where he worked on set-up at the North Plant. He retired on May 23, 2018.

He enjoyed hunting with his son, brother and sister-in-law. He also liked to fish. Keith loved tractor pulls, drag racing and muscle cars. Most of all, his family came first.

Grateful to have shared his life is his children, Christopher Krause of Oyens, IA and his fiancé, Anna Eastvolt of Northwood, ND, two daughters, Rebecca Krause and Sarah Krause both of Oyens, IA; his mother, Phyllis Krause of Le Mars, IA; a sister, Sue Lindstrand and her husband, Tom; brothers, Arlen Krause, Curt Krause, Wendell Krause and his wife, Lori all of Le Mars, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He fought the good fight of faith. Then he went home to be with the Lord.
