DEATH SUMMONS AN AKRON WOMAN
Last Rites Are Held On Wednesday For Mrs. Axel Kilstrom
Following an extended illness, Mrs. Axel Kilstrom answered the final summons at the Akron Hospital Sunday night March 26, 1967, aged nearly 88 years.
Mrs. Kilstrom, the former Carin Johnson was born in Varmland, Sweden, on March 29, 1879, and came to the United States at the age of 10 with her parents, who settled in Leeds, Iowa. On Sept. 25, 1913, she united in marriage with Axel Kilstrom and they moved to Chicago. They came to Akron in 1919. Mrs. Kilstrom was an active member of the Wesley Methodist Church and of the Ladies Society of the church, and was held in high regard for her many fine womanly qualities. She had been a resident in the Akron Nursing home since 1962.
Survivors include the widower; two sons, Gordon of Akron and Clifford of Sioux City, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Wesley Methodist church, Rev. Donald Roberts officiating. Richard Smith was vocalist and Mrs. Orin Harris was organist. Casketbearers were Henry Anderson, Milton Anderson, Darwin Johnson, Russell Anderson, Stanley Anderson and DARYL Port. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
