FORMER WESTFIELD RESIDENT DIES
Rites Held Here Friday Afternoon For Mrs. Fred Irwin
Marion Taylor, daughter of James and Elizabeth Taylor, was born in England, May 18, 1877, and passed away in San Francisco, California, on May 23, 1954, at the age of 77 years and 5 days.
At the age of seven she came to America with her parents and settled on a farm south of Akron, Iowa. She attended the Akron public school.
In 1896 she was united in marriage with Rufus Ceilley, of Akron, and they began housekeeping on his farm, south of Westfield. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Edith Baker, of Akron; Mrs. Julia Johnson, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Walter Ceilley, of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Early in their married life Mr. and Mrs. Ceilley became members of the Westfield, Congregational Church; her husband preceded her in death in 1927. Three years later she moved to California, where the remainder of her life was spent. In 1949 she was re-married to Mr. Fred Irwin, of San Francisco, who passed away in 1953.
She is survived by her two daughters, her son, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Akron, last Friday afternoon, with Pastor David J. Roy in charge. Mrs. Milton Anderson sang "Still, Still With Thee," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. H. Shoulberg. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
