DEAD—About 2 o'clock Monday afternoon Mrs. Annie Burns, wife of Frank W. Burns, ESQ., died after an illness extending through several weeks.

Mrs. Burns was the daughter of Joseph Houghton, Esq., and was married on the 27th day of May, 1867, at Princeton, Illinois. About two years since she removed with her family to this place and by her kindness of disposition, purity of life and beauty of character, endeared to herself a large circle of friends.

Her last illness was one of excruciating agony, but amidst it all, she never murmured nor complained, and when told that the result would probably be fatal, she gave evidence of complete resignation, and awaited calmly the summons.

Mrs. Burns leaves a devoted husband, three bright children, an aged father, and many relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

The funeral will take place from the residence of the deceased this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
