PLAN RITES FRIDAY FOR MRS. JOHNSON AT AKRON CHURCH

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Johnson, 65, who died Tuesday at a Cherokee, Iowa hospital after a brief illness, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran church. Rev. Luther Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery at Akron, Iowa, under direction of Lewison funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson was born July 28, 1896, in Sioux City. She was married to Gerhardt Johnson on October 28, 1926, in Sioux City. She and her husband lived on farms in the Akron community.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Harvey Johnson of Afton, Wisconsin; six daughters, Mrs. Elmer Morrison of South Beloit, Illinois; Mrs. Martha Powell and Mrs. Edith Beeck, both of Akron; Mrs. Gladys Tobin (Toben) of Westfield, Iowa; Mrs. Evelyn Taylor of Fairmount, N.D.; and Mrs. Eva Taylor of Redmond, Oregon; four brothers, John Ernest and Roy Knecht all of Akron, and George Knecht of Delvin Lake, Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Clara Andrews of Beresford, S. D.; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
