Alvina R. Traufler
SIOUX CITY — Alvina R. Traufler, 92, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at her residence.
The former Alvina R. Dunn was born May 16, 1909, in Plymouth County, the daughter of Frank A. and Alice (Keenan) Dunn. She married Isadore L. Traufler and had been a resident of Sioux City since 1939. She was a homemaker. Mr. Traufler died Oct. 6, 1968, in Sioux City.
She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, and the American Legion. Marine Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Kathy Traufler of Fort Dodge; two granddaughters, Lisa Traufler of Fort Dodge and Tracey Strickland of Houston, Texas; and a great-granddaughter, Bonnie Strickland of Houston, Texas. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry.
A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today (Friday) at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with Father Gerald Hartz, chaplain of Holy Spirit Chapel, officiating. Cremation will follow the vigil service, with interment in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
