Lillian Faulkner
Lillian Faulkner, 83, a former longtime Plymouth county resident, died Aug. 9, 1977, at the Hendricks, Minn. hospital.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at Eldness funeral chapel, Elkton, S.D., Aug. 13 with Rev. Terrance Stanton officiating. Burial was in the Le Mars city cemetery with Rev. W. M. Bloodworth officiating.
Lillian Null Faulkner was born Sept. 15, 1893, in Plymouth county. She was the youngest daughter of William and Etta Frerichs Null, who were prominent Elgin township farmers.
Mrs. Falkner received her education in the public schools. She became an accomplished musician and gave piano lessons for many years.
Her marriage to William George Faulkner took Place Dec. 2, 1917. The couple farmed in Plymouth county and later in Brookings county, South Dakota.
In 1955 they retired and moved to Elkton where they lived until ill health made it necessary to retire to a nursing home.
Mr. Faulkner died Dec. 22, 1976. Mrs. Faulkner had resided at the nursing home for seven years.
Survivors after three daughters, Mrs. Ben J. (Lavonne) Hartmann, Evanston, Ill.,; Mrs. Earl (Gladys) Gagby, Ward, S.D.; AND Mrs. James (Dorothy) Baumgardner, Santa Ana, Calif.; one son, William Faulkner, Akron, and a sister, Mrs. Etta Albert Canton, S.D. There are seven grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and three sisters.
