October 12, 1964 ~ January 12, 2021

Patrick J. Dennison, 56, of Westfield, IA, passed away surrounded by his family, on January 12, 2021 at home as he requested.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel 3220 Stone Park Blvd. with visitation starting at 12:00 pm. Masks are required and social distancing is suggested. Burial will be at a later date at Westfield Cemetery; Westfield, IA.

Pat was born on October 12, 1964 in Akron IA, to Tom and Barb (Neal) Dennison. He lived in Westfield until he was 4. The family then moved to the family farm 7 miles south of Westfield. It’s there where his love of farming began. Pat grew up hunting, trapping, fishing and working on the farm with his brothers and sisters. He attended school in Westfield and graduated from Akron-Westfield in 1983. While in school, he participated in baseball and basketball. After graduation, he started farming with his Dad and continued to farm until his death. He married Kelley Thacker in August of 2006 and they have remained friends.

Pat served as a trustee for the Sioux Township of Plymouth County for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family and pets. He was a lifelong Notre Dame fan.

Pat was deeply loved by all of his nieces and nephews who grew up following him around the farm.

Those left to honor his memory include his parents; Tom and Barb Dennison of Westfield, his sisters; Deanna (Roger) Heyl of Elk Point, SD, and Kathryn (Kirk) Banks of Westfield, brothers; Bill (Janet) Dennison of McCook Lake, SD, and John (Tanya) Dennison of Westfield, Kelley Dennison, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his older brothers; Tom Dennison and Mike Dennison.
