DIED

Mrs. Solomon Erickson, who has resided in western Plymouth county for about thirty-five years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Anderson, west of town Monday, February 21, 1927, at about 8 p.m., after an extended illness of cancer, aged 68 years, 6 months and 2 days.

Ida Johnson was born in Elfsborgs Lan, Vastergotland, Sweden, August 19, 1858. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Sweden and came to this country in 1884. She spent a few years in Providence, Rhode Island, and then came to Sioux City, Iowa, where she lived a few years.

On October 11, 1890, she was united in marriage with Solomon Eerickson, and they began housekeeping on a farm near Crathorne, Plymouth county. In 1898 they bought a farm near Adaville, this county, and lived there about twenty years. They retired from farming in the spring of 1918 and moved to Akron, which remained their home until Mr. Erickson's death on March 18, 1926, since which time she has resided with her children in this vicinity.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a valued and helpful friend and neighbor. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Olga (Robert) Anderson and Mrs. Edith (Robert) Brundeen, and their two sons (grandsons), Stanley Anderson and Arthur Brundeen. One brother, Chas. Johnson, lives in Sioux City. They have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Robert Anderson hoe, in Union county, S. D., and in the English Lutheran church, of this city, of which she was a member. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

The pallbearers were her six nephews, who also served as pallbearers for Mr. Erickson: Carl, Theodore, Alvin and Edwin Erickson, Leander Boetger and Herbert Miller. Rev O. F. Bohman, who conducted the service, sang at the home and Mrs. R. C. Smikahl, Miss Elsie Johnson and Dr. R. C. Smikahl sang at the church and cemetery.
