Walter A. Heyl

Walter A. Heyl, 82, Akron, died Friday (Jan. 30, 1981) at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron, The Rev. Marvin Mueller officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home.

Mr. Heyl was born Sept. 12, 1898, near Ireton. He married Josephine J. Miller Dec. 8, 1920, at Alcester, S. D. He farmed near Akron until retiring to Akron in 1954. He was a 49-year member of the Farmers Union of South Dakota.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (La Von) Burg of Fremont, Neb., Mrs. Arden (Verajean) Olson of Humboldt, Iowa and Mrs. Eldon (Lois) Von Hagel of Sioux City; one brother, Russell of Omaha; two sister, Mrs. Blanche Keiser of Escondido, Calif., and Mrs. Luetta Huston of Sioux City; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
