JAMES F. WOOMER, 83, SUCCUMBS AT HOSPITAL WAS IPS ENGINEER HERE OVER 5I0 YEARS

Funeral Rites Set
Saturday Afternoon

James E. Woomer, 83, died Thursday at Sacred heart hospital after a month's illness.

He had been employed as an engineer for Iowa Public Service Co. here for 52 years, retiring in 1952. He originally had been employed by Schaeffer Brothers.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist church, with Rev. Milo Morris officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of Luken's funeral home. Pallbearers will be Iowa Public Service Co. employes.

Mr. Woomer was born June 22, 1880, at Grinnell. He moved to Orange City in 1917 coming to LeMars a year later.

His marriage to Addie Adkinson took place March 16, 1904, at Grinnell. She preceded him in death as did his parents, David Harvey and Lauretta Cratty Woomer.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marie Huls of Sioux City; a sister and brother, Mrs. Josie Middlesdorf of Beloit, Wis. and Harvey Woomer of Des Moines and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Luken's funeral home after Friday noon. Family prayer will be at the funeral home at 8:45 p.m.
