Lloyd R. Kamradt
Lloyd R. Kamradt, 68, died Thursday at Matney Westside Manor following a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Central Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Joseph Pyle will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation will be from 2-8:30 p.m. today and 10 a.m. today and 10 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Berkemier Funeral Home with the Rev. Loretta Plummer officiating.
Mr. Kamradt was born Dec. 29, 1919 at Akron and lived in the Akron area until entering the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the 30th infantry division which invaded Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievement in action. Following military service, he made his home in Sioux City. He married Mary Peck Oct. 16, 1948, in Sioux City. He was employed at K D Feed Company for 10 years, after which he was a self-employed contractor, and employed by the city of Sioux City until his retirement in 1983.
He was a member of Central Assembly of God Church and VFW Post 580.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ron “Butch” and Michael both of Sioux City; a brother, Lowell of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Gladys) Faust of Westfield and five grandchildren.
