Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the farm home and at 2 p.m. at the farm home and at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church in Grant township. Rev. B. Nagel will officiate. Burial will be in the Grant township cemetery under the direction of Mauer’s funeral home.

Mr. Von Hagel was born Dec. 17, 1883, in Grant township, the son of John H. and Helena Ludwigs Von Hagel. He had resided on the same farm in Grant township most of his life. Mr. Von Hagel was a member of Christ Lutheran church.

His marriage to Hanna Meyer took place May 7, 1909, at Christ Lutheran church.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Minnie at home; two sons John of Le Mars and Walter at home and one grandson.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Helena Lammers of Madelia, Minn.; Mrs. Herman Heeren of Le Mars and Mrs. John Wilken of Akron.

He was preceded in death by one son, Herman his parents and a sister.

Life’s End

RITES SET SATURDAY FOR GERD VON HAGEL

Funeral services for Gerd Von Hagel, 75, lifelong Plymouth county resident who died Wednesday at his farm home will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the farm home and at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church in Grant township. The body will be taken from Mauer’s funeral home at 4 p.m. Friday to the Von Hagel home in Grant township.

Gerd J. Von Hagel

Gerd Jansen Von Hagel who resided his entire time in Grant township, Plymouth county passed away February 11, 1959, at his home after a lingering sickness which lasted five years. He suffered a stroke on Saturday evening.

Mr. Von Hagel was born December 17, 1883, in Grant township and lived his entire life on the same place. His parents were John H. Von Hagel and Helena Ludwigs Von Hagel. He was married to Hanna Meyer on May 7, 1909 at first Lutheran church in Grant township.

Funeral services will be held February 14, 1959, at 1:30 at the home and at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church in Grant township. The body will remain at the Mauer funeral home until noon Saturday at which time it will be taken to the Von Hagel home. Rev. B. Nagel will officiate at last rites and burial will be in the Grant township cemetery.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Hanna; a daughter, Minnie at home; two sons, John of Le Mars and Walter at home and one grandson, three sisters, Mrs. Helena Lammers of Madelia, Minnesota; Mrs. Herman Heeren of L e Mars and Mrs. John Wilken of Akron.

He was preceded in death by a son, Herman his parents and a sister. He was a member of Christ Luther Church.
