William Dodson, a pioneer resident 78 years of age, is dead at LeMars. He came there from England in 1873, and at one time was accounted quite wealthy, owning a farm and being engaged in the mercantile business. In later years he met with reverses and worked with the city street gang.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Dec. 1, 1835 and died August 1, 1913. He is buried in Memorial Cemetery.
