Chester B. Bean Called to Reward

Chester Bean died on Saturday at the local hospital. He had been identified with the business and religious life of the community since early life and his presence will be sincerely missed by the host of friends he had gained over the years.

Chester B. Bean was born July 11, 1908, at New Port, New Hampshire, and came to Akron with his parents, Curtis and Myrtle (Ogden) Bean, in 1911 and grew to manhood here. On December 14, 1949, he was united in marriage with Loda Mae Glass. During his marriage life he was employed by several different business firms and for the past number of years by the Nelson Hatchery. He attained the age of 56 years, 11 months and 8 days.

He is survived by his wife, Loda Mae; one sister, Mrs. Chestena Burnett, of Elk Point, S.D., and one brother, Richard, of Akron.

A friend pays the deceased the following deserved tribute:

“Chester Bean was a man who was loved as well as respected by relatives and friends. All who knew him speak of him with esteem and affection. He did much for others and always willingly. He used his life that others’ lives might be better. His service to God and to the church will always be remembered.

Casket bearers were: Tony Weidenfeller, Bill Faulkner, Allen VanderHelm, Curtis Lewison, Harry Nelson and David Nelson. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
