William James Morgan, third son of Martin and Isabell Morgan was born in Poweshiek county, la., March 14, 1882. At the age of eight years, he came with his parents to Correctionville, la., where he grew to manhood.

On January 1, 1907, he was s married to Susan Nicodemus. To this union were born four children, one son Merle and three daughters Viola, Alma, and Esther. One daughter Esther, passed away when a small child. Their married life was spent at Kingsley and Le Mars until his wife went to her reward in February 1930.

On March 6, 1931, he was united in marriage with Hazel Patterson and had since lived in Lawton, la. To them was born one son, Russell William who lived only a few short hours.

In May of this year Mr. Morgan was stricken with appendicitis, but after an operation seemed in better health for a time, but was taken ill and taken to a hospital on August 15. There his condition became increasingly serious until death came at the age of 50 years, 5 months, and 11 days.

He was converted while young and united with the Free Methodist Church of which he was an active and diligent member until his death. During his last illness, he was drawn still nearer the Lord and died triumphant in his faith, August 25, 1932. His only regret was leaving those near and dear to him.

Left to mourn his loss are his wife and children; his aged mother, Mrs. Isabell Rice, of Correctionville, la.; and four brothers, Frank of South Dakota; John of Correctionville, la.; Cephus of Kingsley; and George of Moville, .la. One brother Charles, one sister Jennie, one half-brother Martin Luther, and one half-sister Ruth, preceded him in death. He also leaves many other relatives and friends who will miss him.

" I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day. "

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 21, at the Brethren Church, conducted by Mrs. Jamison, of the Free Methodist Church of Le Mars, la. Interment was mad in the Kingsley cemetery
