Mrs. Dana Hoffman Pioneer Resident Of Le Mars Died Saturday

Mrs. Dana Hoffman died Saturday, Oct. 22, in Sacred Heart hospital following a short illness.

Elizabeth Hentges was born Sept. 23, 1872, in Le Mars, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hentges, and spent her entire life here. On May 7, 1901, at St. Joseph Catholic church, she was married to Dana Hoffman, who survives her. Of this union three children were born who survive their mother; Dr. Carl P. Hoffman of Algona, Margaret Hoffman of Denver and Mrs. L. C. O’Toole of Le Mars. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: John and Leonard Hentges of Redlands, Calf.; Edward Hentges, Washington, D.C.; Joe, Frank and Rome Hentges of Le Mars and Misses Cecelia and Clementine Hentges of Le Mars.

There are six grandchildren. A brother and sister, Stephen and Clara, preceded her in death.

Mars. Hoffman was a member of the Christian Mother’s society and of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 on Tuesday, Oct. 25, with Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiating and burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

The remains were at Wiltgen funeral home until service time.

Out of town members of the family who will attend the funeral are: A son, Dr. Karl Hoffman of Algona; a daughter, Prof. Marjorie Hoffman of Denver; Edward Hentges of Washington, D. C.; Joan Hoffman of St. Mary’s college, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Hoffman; Mary O’Toole of Rosary college, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. L. C. O’Toole.
