Irma E. (Pollock) Woudenberg, of Lincoln, Neb., passed away Nov. 29, 2015.
A Celebration Of Life was held Dec. 5, 2015 at the Havelock United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Neb. Interment of her ashes will be in the Spring 2016 at Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Iowa.
Irma was born November 19, 1918, on a farm a few miles from Akron and was the middle child of five children born to Robert "Rex" and Neva Pollock. She graduated from Akron high school in 1937. She married Herb Woudenberg on January 30, 1941. This started her journey of living the military life, which took her all over the world and having four children along the way.
Herb and Irma returned to the states in December 1957. They resided in Sioux City, IA , Akron, Mitchell, SD, and finally settled in Lincoln, NE, home of the Huskers. Herb and Irma parted ways in 1982 after forty-one years of marriage. Through the years Irma enjoyed church activities, volunteer work, playing cards, and spending time with family, especially during the holidays. She has left a legacy of memories and traditions to cherish.
She is survived by her children: Jerry (Elda) Woudenberg of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; Janene (Dick) Harper of Shawnee, Okla.; Maury (Donna) Woudenberg, Lincoln, Neb.; Maria (Terry) Buresh, Lincoln, Neb.; nine granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
