EDWARD VISNOW
Edward H. Visnow, 73, died Sunday afternoon in Hines Veterans hospital after an illness of three months.
Born June 6, 1892, in Akron, Ia., he was the son of Samuel and Anna (Cilly) Visnow. In 1933, in Elk Point, Ia., he marred Magda Jensen, who preceded him in death in December, 1960.
A veteran of World War I, Visnow was a member of Charles Pratt post 94, American Legion. He had been a resident of Valparaiso since 1933 and had been employed as a mechanic at several local garages.
Surviving is one son, Edward C., Valparaiso.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald, and one sister.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wetmore Funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Parker, First Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Old-Time friends here will learn with regret of the death of a former resident, Edward H. Visnow, of Valparaiso, Indiana, Sunday, May 15, at Veterans' Hospital, Hines, Ill., aged nearly 73 years.
Born June 6, 1892, to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Visnow, at Westfield, Iowa, he came with them to Akron at an early age and grew to manhood here. He was employed as an expert mechanic at Valparaiso for a number of years. The past few years he had made occasional visits to Akron to visit the late Rollo J. Baker and other boyhood friends.
His wife and son, Donald preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Edward C.; two brothers, Fred of San Francisco, and Maurice, and a sister Grace, both of Sioux City.
Funeral services and burial were at Valparaiso.
