Arnold Frederes, 71, of Remsen, died Friday, Oct. 4, 1991, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a brief illness. The Funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 6, 1991, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen. The Rev. John J. McGuirk officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen.

Mr. Frederes was born Oct. 10, 1919 at rural Remsen to Theodore and Christina (Lampert) Frederes. He was raised in the Remsen area and attended rural school. Mr. Frederes was engaged in farming near Remsen until retiring in November of 1978, when he moved into town.

Survivors include two brothers, Lawrence and his wife Stella of Alton and Roman of Remsen; one sister, Mrs. Clifford (Loretta) Owens of Alton; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. George (Callista) Frederes of Remsen and Mrs. Anthony (Florence) Frederes of Alton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and Anthony.
