Funeral Tuesday for Mary D. Wurth
Mrs. Wilfred (Mary D.) Wurth, 79, of Remsen, died Saturday, June 6, 1985, at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 in St. Mary's Catholic Church here. The Mass was concelebrated by Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens, Rev. James Tigges and Rev. William Schreiber. Burial was in parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wurth, the former Mary D. Ruden, was born May 8, 1906 in Oyens, the daughter of Nicholas and Margaret (Marjeres) Ruden. She came as a child to Remsen area with her parents and was reared and educated here.
Her marriage to Wilfred Wurth took place Jan. 5, 1942, at Remsen. They farmed near Remsen until retiring and moving into Remsen in 1969.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Catholic Order of Forester.
Surviving are her husband, Wilfred of Remsen; a son Daniel of Sioux City; four grandchildren; three brothers, Arnold Ruden of Marcus and Sylvester and Edmund Ruden of Rensen; three sisters, Mrs. Paschal (Mathilda) Wurth of Remsen, Mrs. John (Helen) Kincaid of Pueblo, Colo. and Mrs. Martin (Armella) Willett of Alton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judy on Jan. 17, 1966; four brothers, John, Frank, Norbert and one in infancy; and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Bertha) Ludwig and Miss Evelyn Ruden.
Casket bearers were Larry and Richard Ruden, Allen and Clarence Willet, and Gene and William Wurth.
