Michael A. Pew Passes Divide

Popular Former Le Mars Business Man Dies in St. Paul

George V. Pew, of this city, received a letter yesterday from relatives in Yakima, Wash., informing him of the death of his uncle, Michael A. Pew, of St. Paul, Minn.

Mr. Pew died suddenly Thanksgiving day at the age of 78, in his home in St. Paul, Minn., where he had lived since leaving Le Mars thirty-three years ago. Mike Pew is well remembered by many Le Mars residents. He was a member of the hardware and machinery firm of Pew Bros. established by George E. Pew, Mike Pew and Frank Pew in 1892, successors to the firm of Pew & Larue, formed by George Pew and L. G. LaRue. He was married while a resident of Le Mars to Miss Doran, a popular teacher in the Le Mars schools for several years, who with three sons, Robert, Doran and Maurice, survive him.

Mike Pew with his brothers, the late George and Frank Pew enjoyed an extensive popularity in Le Mars and surrounding territory.

The funeral services were held in St. Paul, Minn., December 1, and internment made at that place.
