Death of Mrs. Albert (sic--Alba) Jeffers.

Mrs. Albert (sic--Alba) Jeffers, who makes her home in this city with her grandson, County Attorney Jeffers, died on Tuesday afternoon. Her death occurred at the residence of another grandson, J. R. Jeffers, of Ruble, where she was staying on a visit. She passed away just after partaking of the noonday meal. She was in her usual good health and the first symptoms of anything wrong were noticed when she fell off the chair on which she was sitting. Her death was due to heart failure.

Mrs. Jeffers was born at Watertown, N. Y., in October, 1813, where she grew up and was married. With her husband she moved to Beloit, Wis., in 1845. In 1869 they came to Plymouth county and homesteaded land in section four, Johnson township, the same place at which she died.

Mr. Jeffers died about sixteen years ago. They had eight children, two of whom survive, a son who took the name of C. J. Kinney, who resides at Rockford, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. M. A. Moore of Beloit, Wis.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at the Johnson township Presbyterian church.

Mrs. B. A. Jeffers with whom the deceased made her home for the past twenty years was in Stockton, Ill., at the time and was notified and was expected home this morning in time to attend the funeral.

She was as well as usual and the family had just been all together eating watermelon only a few moments before. The old lady was seen to fall from her chair, but dead before anything could be done. She was eighty-eight years old. Her death is ascribed to heart failure.
