Kenneth L. Sutton, 67, of Le Mars, died Wednesday Sept. 3, 2003, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, following a brief illness.

Kenneth Leonard Sutton was born April 18, 1936, in Le Mars, the son of Joe and Celeste (Thiesen) Sutton. He was raised in Le Mars and attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and Gehlen Catholic High School.

Kenneth joined the National Guard and had served with Co. K & A, 133rd Infantry, 34th Division in the Iowa-Nebraska National Guard, and Co. B, 1-181st FT Infantry, 26th Yankee Division, in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. In recent years Mr. Sutton had operated a lawn care business in Le Mars, until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council #1466 in Le Mars. When Kenneth was living in Massachusetts, he was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member of the Bishop Beaven Council, a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #747, and the American Legion, Post #129.

Survivors include many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Andrew Hoffman presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars with graveside military honors conducted by Wasmer Post #241 of the American Legion.

Friends may call anytime after 4 p.m. Friday at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Scriptural wake service will be at 7 p.m. and the K.C. rosary at 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
