Mrs. Peter Fissel Taken By Death
Was Well Known Resident For Years
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church for Mrs. Peter Fissel, 77, early resident of this community who died Thursday afternoon at her home 25 Third Avenue SW after a lingering illness.
Rev. L. L. Belk, pastor of the church conducted the service. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Mauer’s.
Mrs. Fissel was born February 12, 1862, Ostfriesland, Germany, and received her religious and secular education there. In 1877, she moved to Emden, 111., with her parents and in 1881 she was married to Henry Riemann. They farmed until 1896 at Emden and moved to Plymouth county in that year and farmed for 15 years in Grant Township and then retired. Mr. Riemann died in 1911 and later Mrs. Riemann married Peter Fissel, in September, 1926.
Surviving are her husband and one adopted daughter, Mrs. Henry Fett, of Craig; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fissel was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and esteemed in a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
