Mrs. J. C. Neumeister, Who Has Been An Invalid For Some Years, Passes Away

Mrs. Neumeister, wife of J. C. Neumeister, of this city, died at her home in this city on Sunday morning at four o’clock. Mrs. Neumeister had been an invalid for several years. She was an old resident of LeMars.

The deceased was a native of Germany. Her maiden name was Caroline Amelia Lang and she was born in the province of Saxony on September 25, 1841. With her parents she came to America in 1853. They settled first in Milwaukee and later moved to Menesha, Wis. At that place she was united in marriage in 1859 to John C. Neumeister. They came to Iowa in 1865 settling on a farm in Black Hawk county and two years later came to Plymouth county, which has been their home since, with the exception of a brief period when they lived at Hollywood, Colorado.

Mrs. Neumeister is survived by her husband, three daughters and three sons. The daughters are: Mrs. Caroline Calfas and Mrs. George Hotham, of this city, Mrs. Anna Bolton Hamil, S. D. Geo. N. Neumeister and William Neumeister, of North Yakima, Wash., and Walter N. Neumeister, of Sioux City. The aged lady is also survived by one brother and one sister and seventeen grandchildren.

In early life Mrs. Neumeister affiliated with the Evangelical association. She was a Christian woman, devoted to her home and family and was respected by a large circle of neighbors and friends.

The funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at ten o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Caroline Calfas, Rev. F. H. Thiel officiating.
