Obituary for Sandra Kay Thillen

Sandra Thillen, age 62, of LeMars, Iowa lost her battle to cancer on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Townhouse, 2701 Floyd Blvd, Sioux City, Iowa 51104; starting at 11:30 a.m. and will last until the end of the Vikings game. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Sandra Thillen Memorial Fund c/o United Bank of Iowa, 1270 Lake Ave N., Storm Lake, Iowa 50588.

Sandra Kay Thillen, the daughter of Bill and Joyce Puetz, was born on July 13, 1956 in Moses Lake, Washington. As an infant, Sandra was baptized at St. James Catholic Church in LeMars. In her youth, she attended grade school in LeMars and would later graduate high school from LeMars Community School.

In her free time, she enjoyed watching Vikings football, traveling, bonfires, and euchre. She especially cherished hanging out with friends and family. She also loved going to the casino and camping with friends and family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her parents, Bill and Joyce Puetz of Merrill, Iowa; children: Beth (Dave) Jensen of Storm Lake, Iowa; Will (Jami) Puetz of Walford, Iowa; Teresa (Jack) Storie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers: Mike (Cindy) Puetz of Arizona and Jeff Puetz of Sioux City, Iowa; sisters: Julie (Danny) Lawrence of Mapleton, Iowa and Wendy (Doug) VonArb of Maple Lake, Minnesota; grandchildren: Mia Chatwell, Tracy Chatwell, Kelly Jensen, Amber Jensen, Alex Wilson, Logan Puetz, Carter Wahl, Eli Puetz, Joey Puetz, Isabella Puetz, Nathan Becker, Brendon Becker, Jayden Storie, and Kaden Storie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her grandparents.
