Marshall E. ReesMarshall E. Rees, 89, of LeMars, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.
Marshall Edward Rees was born May 15, 1910 at Seney, the son of Fred (Bound) and Lena M. (Pennings) Rees. He was confirmed and baptized at the Seney United Methodist Church and attended school in Seney. On Jan. 1, 1934, he married Dorothy May Keizer in her parents' home in Plymouth County. Marshall and Dorothy farmed in Plymouth County their entire married life and continued to make their home on the farm.
Marshall enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards and going to the Senior Center in LeMars.
Survivors include his wife; three daughtes, Donna Detrick and her husband, Neil, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Marilyn Wingert of Omaha, Neb., and Sherry Rees Campbell and her husband, Jim, of Grand Haven, Mich.; a son, Claude Rees adn his wife, Gracia, of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Seney United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Florendo officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be William Noack, Keith Wills, Rob Masters, Terry Keizer, Robert Becker, and Cecil Yoder.
