Final Rites Held For Tony Tammen

Ireton—Funeral services for Tony Tammen, 65, of Craig, who died Saturday, were held yesterday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Craig with Re3v. W. K. Schmidt in charge.

He was born at Wesserholt, Germany, June 27, 1882. He was baptized and was instructed in the Evangelical church at Wesserholt. He came to America when a youth of 19 years, locating in Plymouth county.

He was married to Anna Ludwigs October 19, 1905, and for the past 36 years they lived on the farm east of Craig. About two years ago he submitted to an operation and since then he had not enjoyed good health.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons and one daughter, John of Craig, Henry and George of Ireton, Edward of Dell Rapids, S.D., and Clara and Elmer at home.

He was one of the founders of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Craig and took an active part in this organization, serving as a trustee and president of the congregation.
