Mrs. Mary Driscoll

Mrs. Mary Driscoll, 88, a Plymouth county native who had lived many years at Tyler, Minn., died Sunday (Jan. 28, 1975) at Floyd Valley hospital after a brief illness.

She had lived at Tyler until 18 months ago when she came to Le Mars to make her home at the Abbey.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Dionysius Catholic church in Tyler with Rev. Myron Helget officiating. A rosary will be recited at the Utoff-Johansen funeral home in Tyler at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery at Tyler.

Mary Geary was born Aug. 9, 1896, in Plymouth county the daughter of W. J. and Francis Powers Geary. She married Daniel J. Driscoll, Jan. 8, 1910, at Wayne, Neb. The coupled farmed in Nebraska and then in Minnesota. He died Jan. 2, 1957, at Tyler, Minn.

Survivors are two sons, Daniel V. of Russell, Minn. and Thomas of Le Mars; three daughters, Mary Dressen, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Ira (Catherine) Purdy, Santa Barbara, Calif.; and Mrs. Lee (Geneva) Melrose, Casper, Wyo.; 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hart, Des Moines and Mrs. Fannie Ahern, Missoula, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Edward. Also preceding her in death were five brothers and three sisters.
