Military services Monday for Leonard Hauschild, 52
Leonard Elmer Hauschild, 52, rural Le Mars, life-long resident of Grant township, Plymouth county, died Thursday (Jan. 15, 1976) at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness. He was taken Wednesday by the Le Mars ambulance to the hospital from his farm home north of Le Mars.
He was born April 30, 1923, in Plymouth county to John Hauschild and Elizabeth Zimmerman Hauschild.
His mother preceded him in death. He had farmed and was a cattle feeder and livestock trucker.
His marriage to Betty Sandrock took place March 16, 1947, at Coleridge, Neb. Mrs. Hauschild is a registered nurse at Floyd Valley hospital.
He was a member of St. John American Lutheran church and Wasmer post, American Legion: He was an air force veteran of World War 2 and a graduate of San Francisco mortuary school. He was a charter member of the Le Mars Drum and Bugle corp.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John American Lutheran church in Le Mars. Rev. Arnold Imbrock will officiate and burial will be in Christ Lutheran cemetery, Grant township, rural Le Mars under direction of the Mauer funeral home. Military rites at the gravesite will be conducted by Wasmer post.
Survivors are wife Betty; four daughters, Mrs. Gene (Linda) Beitelspacher and Mrs. Dean (Diane) Beitelspacher both of rural Le Mars and Kathy Ann and Lori Jean at home; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hubert (Arlene) Olson, Neillsville, Wis.; his father, John Hauschild and his step-mother, Mrs. John (Katherine) Hauschild of Le Mars.
He was also preceded in death by three infant sons and an infant sister.
