Christian Wendt Claimed By Death
Well Known Farmer In Johnson townshipChristian D. Wendt, a resident of Johnson township, eight miles west of Le Mars, died Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Wendt was born on the home farm January 16, 1879, where he passed away.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Laura Wendt (nee Hamilton) there are four sons and one daughter and one grand¬daughter, who survive to mourn his passing. They are: George Wendt of Sioux City; Roy Wendt of Glasgow, Mo.; Mts. Myrtle Cox of Boise, Idaho; Edwin Wendt at home, and Ralph Wendt at home. His grandchild is Nedra Elaine Wendt.
One son, Christian Jr., preceded his father in death in 1924 at the age of 20.
Mr. Wendt moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1904 and returned to Le Mars in 1918 where he resided until 1936 before moving to the farm. In these years the Wendt family attended Le Mars churches.
The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, September 10, at 3:30 o’clock at the First Presbyterian church of Le Mars. Rev. Theo C. Seibert, pastor of Plymouth Presbyterian church, will officiate.
