GEORGE KALE PASSES AWAY
Widely Known County Resident Dies After a Lingering Sickness
LOCATED IN MERRILL
Conducts Business on the Same Spot Over Forty Years

George Kale, who. lived in Le Mars in the early days before engaging in business at Merrill, died at his home there Sunday at the age of 71 years following a sickness of three years. Mr. Kale had been engaged in business forty years and was a well-known restaurant man. Mr. Kale went to Merrill forty-two years ago. After working for three years he began business for himself as a restaurant operator. The present restaurant is situated in the same block in which Mr. Kale opened the business.

Born in Luxemburg, August 15, 1860, Mr. Kale moved with his parents from his native land when he was 9 years old. Coming to America, he lived at Waterloo, until he was 25 years old.

Mr. Kale and Miss Margaret Gallagher, of Shellsburg, Wis., were married at Cedar Rapids in 1885. His widow, who lives at Merrill; two sons, John A. Kale, of Merrill, and Charles Kale, of Vermillion, S. D., and four grandchildren survive. He was a brother of the late Math Kale, of Le Mars.

Funeral Services Wednesday Funeral services will' be. held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning in the Catholic church' at Merrill. Rev. R. J. McKenna will officiate and burial will be in the Le Mars cemetery.
