A fine boy was born April 6 to Mr. and Mrs. Ward Norton of LeMars.

Wayne Norton, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Norton who was badly scalded by hot water last week and taken to the Sacred Heart hospital, was reported recovering yesterday.

Burns Prove Fatal To Scalded Child

Wayne Norton, five months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Norton, died Saturday afternoon in the Sacred Heart hospital from burns suffered ten days ago.

The child was scalded when a kettle of water was upset accidentally in the kitchen at the Norton home and the scalding water splashed into the baby buggy which was in proximity to a lighted stove. The child was reported improved last Saturday.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Mauer funeral home, Rev. S. A. Jones, pastor of the First Baptist church officiating.
