LE MARS, Iowa—Jean JoAnn Toel, 37, of Le Mars died Sunday, April 3, 1994, at her home in Le Mars.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Toel was born June 26, 1956, in Cherokee, the daughter of Verlin and Joan (Townsend) Peters. She was raised on a farm south of Cleghorn and graduated from Meriden-Cleghorn Community High School in May 1974. She then worked in Sioux City for awhile prior to purchasing a beauty shop in Maurice. She later worked at Fareway Grocery in Le Mars. She married Wayne F. Toel, May 8, 1976. In 1980 she opened a beauty shop in her home and operated it until poor health forced her retirement. She later assisted her husband with his construction business.
Mrs. Toel was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, 4-H leader and active in Christian Women’s Club.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kimberly and two sons, Michael and Ryan, all of Le Mars; her mother, Joan Peters of Cleghorn; a brother, Steve and his wife, Gwen of Marcus; a brother, Steve and his wife, Gwen of Marcus; a brother, Charles and his wife, Sandy of Cleghorn; nieces and nephews; and a special aunt, Edna Hinspeter of Marcus.
She was preceded in death by her father, Verlin Peters.
