Fred A. Kale Succumb! to Tuberculous After Illness of Several Weeks —Had-Served In Both the Navy and Army.

Fred Kale who has been hovering between life and death for the' past week, finally died on Sunday morning, January 19, shortly before four o'clock. He came home several weeks ago after having been away from, LeMars for a year or two, and at that time was feeling sick, suffering from cold and other complications. A physician was called and pronounced that Fred was suffering from quick consumption and held out no hopes for his recovery. Since that time, he has been devotedly nursed by his mother who did all she could while facing the inevitable.

Frederick Anthony Kale was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Math. Kale of this city and was born on October 5, 1884, and received his education in the schools here. He learned the painting and paperhanging trade. A roving disposition possessed him and when a boy he went west and served for. a time in the navy and later enlisted in a cavalry regiment stationed in the west. On his return, he took up his trade again. For the past year or two, he lived in Omaha and Minneapolis. Fred Was a fine built, athletic youth before the fatal illness seized him and played baseball with several fast semi-professional teams a few years ago.

He leaves besides his bereaved parents, two brothers, J.J. Kale, of Sheldon, and Sylvester Kale of this city to mourn his loss. One brother Charles was drowned when a lad, about twelve years ago, while bathing in the Floyd River.

The funeral will be held this morning at ten o'clock at St Joseph's church in this city.
