Akron, Iowa – Mrs. Oscar Carlson, 92, Akron, died Monday at a hospital in Akron after a brief illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ. The Rev. Michael McKugh will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. today at the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carlson, the former Lora Ruth Squires, was born Dec. 11, 1886, in Union County (S.D.) near Akron.

She was married Feb. 12, 1908, in Union County. They farmed in Union County for many years until moving to Akron in 1949. Mr. Carlson died in 1950.

Survivors include a son, Roy of Akron; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Bredell of Akron.
