Estella Hasbrook
Mrs. Estella McCain Hasbrooke, 76, Fortuna, California, passed away in her home there after a lingering sickness.
Born near Davis City, Iowa, January 28, 1884, she came to Plymouth county as a child and resided in Union township and in Le Mars until the death of her husband, S. Burton Hasbrook then moved to California to be near her children.
Mourning her death are Mrs. Blanche Knapp, Scotia, California: Mrs. Sybil Lewis, Fortuna California; Mrs. Opal Lafferty, San Leandro, California; Mrs. Cloyce Martin, Eureka, California and Owen Hasbrooke, San Diego California.
Mrs. Gladys Harrington preceded her in death in 1949.
Mrs. Hasbrooke was an active member of the Union Township Presbyterian Church and directed many youth activities and community plays. Later as a member of Calvary E. U. B. Church in Le Mars, she was a member of the ladies groups, Philatea Class, a Sunday school teacher and Superintendent of the Primary department. In recent years she has been active in the Fortuna Methodist Church W. S. C. S.
Memorial services will be conducted in the Calvary E. U. B. Church on Monday, December 17 at 2 o’clock, with inurnment in the Le Mars City cemetery. Mrs. Blanche Knapp and Mrs. Sybil Lewis will be present for the services.
