MRS. MATHILDA GREENWALDT DIES AT NEPTUNE: RITES ARE SET HERE SATURDAY
Mrs. Mathilda A. Greenwaldt, 83, who came to Plymouth county at the turn of the century, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the home of her son Herbert at Neptune after an illness of several years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. H. H. Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the city cemetery under the direction of Mauer's funeral home.
Mathilda Aulwes was born Jan. 9, 1875, at Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Helene Meyer Aulwes. Her marriage to Arthur W. Greenwaldt took place Dec. 20, 1899, at Guttenberg. The couple moved to this county shortly after their marriage and operated a store at Neptune for many years. Mrs. Greenwaldt resided most of her life in or near Le Mars. She was a member of Grace Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid.
Surviving are a son, Herbert of rural Le Mars; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Aulwes of Minneapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Peterman in California and Mrs. Nancy Carnes of Beresford, S. D.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers and a sister.
